Our History .... Who We Are!

The North Dallas chapter of the Texas Democratic Women was Chartered in October of 2002 after Harriet Miller put a call out to Democratic women to come together in her home.  She found a lot of us willing to come out of hiding and declare ourselves publicly as Democrats.

Formed with a constitutional purpose of promoting the increased political activity of Democratic women in Texas politics and government, the IRS recognized us an official entity in November of 2002.  In April of 2004 we became a General Purpose Political Action Committee (GPAC)

Our membership includes men and women that are elected officials, candidates, activists and those interested in our issue oriented programs and our social events.

Our total membership has varied and currently is over a hundred strong.  We have recently added a Student level to enable high school and college students to become active with us.  As part of our outreach program, we debuted our newsletter in May of 2007 and it is mailed monthly to members, other clubs, political activists and our Democrats who have gained elected office.  This website is our next step of letting the public know about our activities.  We hope that you will join us at our meetings or social activities.
