I know you are as eager as I am to see the Democrats regain control of Texas in November, and the Texas Republican Party platform is one of the best tools we have for achieving that goal. That radical right-wing document describes in detail what the Republicans really stand for, all their extreme ideas and objectives, in their own words, without spin or evasion. I doubt if many people would vote Republican if they knew what is in that platform, so why don't we spread the word far and wide?

You have probably read their platform and know what it says, but let me remind you of some of its most radical positions. Here are a few of the things they clearly state that they want to do:

...phase out Social Security and go to a system of private pensions

...repeal the minimum wage

...abolish the IRS and go to a national sales tax

...abolish the following federal departments and agencies: Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, Environmental Protection, Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Health and Human Services, Education, Commerce, and Labor

...defund or abolish the National Endowment for the Arts and the Public Broadcasting System

...confirm that the United States is a Christian nation, eliminate the prohibition on display of the 10 Commandments, and oppose the "myth" of separation of church and state

...repeal Roe v Wade

...advocate abstinence only sex education and oppose use of most forms of contraception and the "morning after" pill

...encourage development of the Strategic Defense Initiative (Star Wars)

...oppose formation of an International Criminal Court

...build a physical barrier along the entire length of our border with Mexico, and encourage immediate deployment of US military forces to secure America's southern border

...commend George W. Bush on the planning and execution of the war in Iraq
